The Interreg Adrion Project SUSTOURISMO held its third capacity-building webinar on 29 September. The goal of the event was to highlight the potential of behavioural change approaches in the tourism mobility sector, as stated during the introductory speech of the Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES), responsible for this activity within the SUSTOURISMO project.

Nudges and “soft” measures can go a long way in influencing and changing attitudes and travel behaviour towards more sustainable options, as described during the presentation by Prof. Andrea Stocchetti of the Research Institute for Social innovation of the Venice University “Ca’ Foscari”.

Four SUSTOURISMO Partners (Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation – Italy, Municipality of Tivat – Montenegro, Regional Council of Berat – Albania, Regional Union of Municipalities of Epirus – Greece) analysed their respective pilot actions, initiated in the summer of 2021, in light of the behavioural change principles, focusing on the innovative approaches adopted in order to promote sustainable mobility options and less known local destinations and attractions within their areas.

This was the third of a series of four webinars organised to connect and promote dialogue among key players of the tourism industry and public transport sector in order to raise awareness and address key drivers of sustainable tourism and reduce the carbon footprint of tourism.

The next webinar will be organised in the spring of 2022.
